This is the perfect Private Tour to get the BEST from Lisbon and Sintra, in one day, for customers with limited time in Lisbon. Although difficult to cover everything in such short-time, we will get the best from both places, passing by the most important attractions, while traveling along the history and culture of our people, with the help of our private tour guide.
You will have opportunity to visit the romantic Royal Pena National Palace, considered in 2015 by EBD the Most Beautiful Castle in Europe, built on the ruins of an old 16th century monastery, learning why Sintra became the center of romantic architecture in Europe.
Before lunch we will head to Lisbon, and explore some of the major highlights, starting with Belem, famous for its discoveries period during the 16th century, passing by the Belem Tower, Discovery Monument and the Jeronimos Monastery. After lunch, tour will continue to Lisbon downtown, and explore the major sights, with a combination of driving plus walking, passing by the most famous areas of the city, such as Alfama, Baixa, Chiado and much more!

Itinerary
The Lisbon + Sintra Highlights – Private Full-Day Tour will cover the most important attractions in Lisbon and Sintra in one full-day.
Although the itinerary can be adjusted during the day, this is the standard/suggested itinerary:
- Departure available from your hotel at 8h30AM.
- Arrive at Sintra around 9h15m and pass by the old village while heading up the hill to the Pena National Palace, the most visited attraction in Portugal – considered in 2015 by EBD the most beautiful castle of Europe – Amazing views overlooking the Moorish Castle
- Visit inside Pena National Palace, former Royal Summer Residence of the Portuguese Kings (1h30m), with overlooking views towards the Moorish Castle and the countryside
- Stop for Lunch nearby the village (1h) or return to Lisbon for Lunch (recommended).
- Visit to Belem district in Lisbon, the historical neighboorhood of the navigators and Portuguese Discoveries. (45min)
- Stop for pictures at Belem Tower, Discovery Monument and visit to the Church of Jeronimos Monastery.
- Quick break for a local pastry at the most famous pastry shop in Portugal, Pasteis de Belem, founded in 1834.
- Head to Lisbon Downtown and visit the major squares of the city (Rossio / Praça Comercio / Restauradores)
- Continue the visit to Chiado, passing by the old Santa Justa Elevator and also S. Pedro Alcantara Viewpoint
- Continue the visit to Alfama district, famous for the St. Jorge Castle and the amazing viewpoints (Portas do Sol)
- Visit to the Lisbon Cathedral, originally built more than 1000 years ago
- End of the tour around 5PM.
* Importante Notice: Between April and September 2018, the visit to Pena National Palace may take longer than usual, specially if starting the tour later. On this case, the visit might be a self-guided visit inside.
* Times on each stop may vary, depending on group pace and preferences, since all our tours are private.

- Drop-off is scheduled between around 5PM, although it can be changed if you need to get back earlier – please advise before booking.

In case you need to cancel/postpone any tours, for any reason, you just need to let us know up to 20 days in advance.
We can either reschedule the tour for any other date (no extra fee), within 5 years’ time.
Guarantee: no amounts will be lost in case of cancellation/postpone, as long as rescheduled for another period.
